Who we are

Dyscover was founded in 1994 by Gill Jackson MBE, a speech and language therapist with many years of NHS experience. Gill had a vision of a community organisation offering long-term support through providing a range of activities in response to the needs and suggestions of people with aphasia and their families.

Our vision is a world where people with aphasia find opportunity and fulfilment.

Dyscover has grown and now operates vital services for people with aphasia in Surrey and South London and approximately 90 people attend our groups and courses each week. Dyscover is unique because all of our sessions, programmes and courses are led by professional speech and language therapists. We follow the Life Participatory approach to aphasia (LPAA) using supported conversation techniques across our service. Our therapists are supported by a team of trained and dedicated volunteers.
