Communicating through drawing

For many of our Dyscover members with limited or no speech, drawing is a very effective tool for communicating. In a recent discussion on sport, Thursday member, Tony sketched images of several sports he’d enjoyed playing – including a shuttlecock and a sailing boat.

Kingston member James used drawing and maps to share a wonderful story from his time in the Navy when he’d ridden a horse through the jungle in Borneo in order to play a game of football!

Indra also used drawing to tell the members in his group about a extraordinary 200km cycle he’d done as a 19-year-old in Nepal.
